So, how do you like our new blog? :-)

With our first year anniversary coming and gone, we realized that we could reach out more to bookoto's friends with this oh-so-accessible blog. We created this blog with the chatbox so you, our friends, could easily send us your feedback, concerns, and what-not. Isn't that great? :-)

Happy Anniversary, bookoto!

bookoto officially turned ONE last January 16th.

It seems like yesterday, as the cliche goes, but it's true for us. Who would've thought we'd survive the first year of managing bookoto? Amidst all other concerns e.g. work, family, parenting, other businesses and more, we somehow manage to juggle everything, not successfully all the time, but yes, we managed.

And boy, aren't we glad?

For those who aren't in the know, here's a brief background of how bookoto came together:

Last Quarter, 2006

Both stay-at-home Moms at this time, Julie Kelly (of Virginia, USA) and Sheryl Martinez (of Quezon City, Philippines) chatted online about Thomas Friedman's "The WORLD IS FLAT". Both were intrigued with the concept of an online store and since they are both passionate about books and scrapbooking, they realized that they may be able to fill in the void of scrapbooking artists and hobbyists in the Philippines & Asia-which is that, not having enough literary resource available in the country.

And so before the year ended, they were able to put together enough inventory to start the Philippine's first friendly and affordable online bookstore, which boasts of a wide selection of genre, most specifically in scrapbooking.

16 January, 2007

bookoto.com saw the light of day on the night of January 16, 2007 when it was launched live on the world wide web. It was an exciting day for both of them and for their customers who stayed loyal to them since the beginning. The year was filled with promos and freebies and gifts to bookoto's friends and loyal customers.

The year ended with so much promise for 2008, and with the first anniversary celebration, we also launch bookoto's BLOG!
