REVIEW: Artful Blogging

Thursday, July 3, 2008

Published by Stampington & Company as a quarterly publication, Artful Blogging's premier issue came out in late 2007. The decision to devote a whole magazine to this 21st century medium sprung from a blog-beautifully and artistically presented- that was first featured in the magazine's sister publication Somerset Studio.

The magazine features a highly-selected crop of bloggers who have created for themselves "visually inspiring online journals". Through all and everyone who blogs, the featured artists and their blogs bring this medium several notches higher in terms of the quality of artistry, beauty and content.

The pages are a veritable collection of breathtaking artworks done by the bloggers/artists themselves. They have made the web a comfortable home for their colorful art and even more colorful sentiments.

The magazine features inspiring blogs but it does not instruct and it's definitely not a how-to magazine. It celebrates, first and foremost, the art; the artist second. There is no room for explanations. And it's probably because beauty and art have no need for it.

Now on its third issue, Artful Blogging magazine continue to honor and recognize talent, beauty and creativity in the online world of journaling.
